Opening the OnePlus 6
- Heat the rear glass to soften adhesive.
- Lift the back cover with a suction cup and pick around the edges.
- Disconnect the rear fingerprint and NFC/antenna flex.
- Remove shields and disconnect the battery first.
Display Replacement
The Optic AMOLED + digitizer is a fused assembly; repairs use a display-with-frame service part. Seat with fresh adhesive and verify touch.
Fingerprint Calibration
The OnePlus 6 uses a rear capacitive fingerprint reader — not an in-display sensor — so no optical calibration is required. After a display or board repair we reconnect (or replace) the rear fingerprint flex and re-enrol fingerprints; the reader works independently of the screen.
Battery Replacement
Disconnect the battery connector and ease out the adhesive pull-tabs (or apply isopropyl alcohol). On ageing units check for swelling. Fit the replacement without bending and re-seal.

The USB-C port is on a lower daughterboard. Clean first; replace the sub-board if charging fails.
Rear Glass Replacement
The glass back is adhesive-mounted — heated, lifted and re-adhered, protecting the rear fingerprint module.
