The Pixel 6 Pro opens from the rear glass. Its curved AMOLED carries the in-display fingerprint (notoriously sensitive on the Pixel 6 series), the periscope and camera bar are delicate, and Tensor heat makes battery wear common.

Safety First
Power off, discharge below 25%, remove the SIM tray, ESD protection. The curved AMOLED is fragile — use even, controlled heat. A swollen battery must never be punctured. Renew the waterproof seals on reassembly.
Opening the Pixel 6 Pro
- Heat the rear glass to soften adhesive and lift it.
- Disconnect the wireless-charging coil and antenna flex.
- Remove shields and disconnect the battery first.
- Release the display flex to separate the panel.
Display Replacement
The curved AMOLED + digitizer (with the in-display fingerprint) is a fused, frame-bonded assembly; most repairs use a display-with-frame service part. Seat with fresh adhesive and verify touch and 120Hz.
Fingerprint Calibration
After any display replacement the in-display optical fingerprint sensor must be re-calibrated. The Pixel 6 series sensor is unusually sensitive to panel quality, so we fit a good-grade screen, run the calibration routine to align the sensor to the new panel, then re-enrol fingerprints. Without calibration — or with a poor panel — unlocks become slow or fail, so this step is included in every 6 Pro screen repair.
Battery Replacement
Tensor-driven heat makes battery wear and swelling common. Disconnect the connector, ease out the adhesive pull-tabs, and fit a fresh cell without bending. Re-seal with fresh gaskets.
Charging Port (USB-C) Repair
The USB-C port is on a lower daughterboard. Clean first; replace the sub-board if charging fails.
Rear Glass / Camera-Bar Replacement
The rear glass and aluminium camera bar are adhesive-mounted over the wireless coil — heated, lifted and re-adhered with a fresh waterproof seal.
Water Damage
Power off, don’t charge, act fast. Open, disconnect the battery, ultrasonically clean the board.
