Professional Poco F1 repair guide

Professional Poco F1 Repair Guide

The Poco F1 opens from the rear cover. With an IPS LCD and a rear-mounted fingerprint, display work is forgiving — there is no under-display sensor to calibrate. After years of use, battery and charging-port faults dominate.

Common Poco F1 Hardware Problems

  • Cracked LCD / touch failure
  • Battery degradation (ageing 4000mAh cell)
  • Cracked rear panel
  • USB-C / charging failure (worn port)
  • Camera faults
  • Rear fingerprint pad faults
  • Water damage

Tools Required

Phillips screwdrivers, plastic picks and opening tools, suction cup, controlled heat, tweezers, SIM tool. Workshop: hot-air station, isopropyl alcohol, display/back-cover adhesive.

Safety First

Power off, discharge below 25%, remove the SIM tray, ESD protection. Use even, controlled heat on the LCD.

Opening the Poco F1

  1. Heat the rear cover to soften adhesive (clip-and-adhesive on the F1).
  2. Lift the back cover with a suction cup and pick around the edges.
  3. Disconnect the rear fingerprint and antenna flex.
  4. Remove shields and disconnect the battery first.

Display Replacement

The LCD + digitizer is supplied as a glass-with-frame assembly. Seat with fresh adhesive and verify touch. There is no in-display fingerprint to align.

Rear Fingerprint Pad

The fingerprint sensor is a rear-mounted pad on a flex. If replaced, reconnect the flex and re-enrol the fingerprint — no optical calibration is required.

Battery Replacement

On an ageing F1 this is the most common repair. Disconnect the battery connector and ease out the adhesive pull-tabs (or apply isopropyl alcohol). Fit a fresh cell without bending and re-seal.

Charging Port (USB-C) Repair

The USB-C port is on a lower daughterboard. A worn port is common on this model — clean first, then replace the sub-board.

Rear Panel Replacement

The plastic (or Kevlar) rear panel is clip-and-adhesive mounted — heated, lifted and re-adhered.

Water Damage

Power off, don’t charge, act fast. Open, disconnect the battery, ultrasonically clean the board.

Repairability Summary

  • Easy: battery, USB-C sub-board, loudspeaker, LCD assembly
  • Moderate: rear panel, rear fingerprint pad
  • Advanced (lab only): motherboard repair
