Realme 7 specifications
The Realme 7 (model numbers RMX2151 / RMX2163) launched in September 2020 as a mid-range Android smartphone built around gaming performance, a smooth 90Hz display, long battery life, and fast charging. Powered by the MediaTek Helio G95 chipset with a 6.5-inch Full HD+ panel, it became one of the most popular budget gaming phones in its segment — and remains common in the second-hand market, which keeps repair demand high.
Network & Connectivity
The Realme 7 supports GSM, HSPA and LTE. 4G LTE bands include 1, 3, 5, 8, 38, 40 and 41 — the inclusion of bands 40 and 41 makes it highly compatible with Indian carriers. Connectivity includes dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/GLONASS/BDS, and USB Type-C 2.0 with OTG.
Body & Build
Dimensions are 162.3 × 75.4 × 9.4 mm at 196.5 g. The front uses Corning Gorilla Glass 3, with a plastic frame and plastic rear housing — the plastic back improves drop durability and keeps back-panel repair costs lower than glass-back phones. It supports dual Nano-SIM plus a dedicated microSD slot.
Display
6.5-inch IPS LCD with a 90Hz refresh rate and ~480 nits brightness. Resolution is 1080 × 2400 (FHD+, 20:9, ~405 PPI) protected by Gorilla Glass 3. The 90Hz panel gives noticeably smoother scrolling and gaming than standard 60Hz displays.
Platform & Memory
Ships with Android 10, upgradeable to Android 11 with Realme UI 2.0. The octa-core Helio G95 (12nm) pairs 2× Cortex-A76 @ 2.05GHz and 6× Cortex-A55 @ 2.0GHz with a Mali-G76 MC4 GPU. Memory configurations: 6GB/64GB and 8GB/128GB on UFS 2.1 storage, with a dedicated microSDXC slot.
Cameras
Rear quad camera: 64MP f/1.8 main (PDAF), 8MP ultrawide (119°), 2MP macro, and a depth sensor. Video up to 4K@30fps with gyro-EIS. Front camera is 16MP f/2.1.
Battery & Charging
5000mAh non-removable battery with 30W Dart Charge — roughly 50% in 26 minutes and a full charge in about 65 minutes. The large battery delivers excellent endurance for its class.
Sensors & Audio
Side-mounted fingerprint scanner (integrated into the power button), accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor and compass. A 3.5mm headphone jack is included alongside a well-rated loudspeaker.

Professional Realme 7 repair guide
Professional Realme 7 Repair Guide
The Realme 7 is one of the more repair-friendly Realme phones thanks to a modular charging daughterboard, widely available spare parts, and an accessible internal layout. This guide outlines the procedures our technicians follow.
Common Realme 7 Hardware Problems
- Broken or cracked LCD display
- Battery swelling and rapid drain
- Charging port failure / Dart Charge not working
- Dead motherboard or boot loop
- Water damage and corrosion
- Touchscreen or ghost-touch issues
- Fingerprint scanner failure
- Camera focus problems and speaker distortion
Tools Required
Precision screwdriver set, plastic pry tools and picks, tweezers, SIM eject tool. For board-level work: heat gun/heating mat, 99% isopropyl alcohol, DC power supply, multimeter, hot-air rework station, microsoldering station and a PCB microscope. Adhesives: Tesa tape, B7000 glue and LCD frame adhesive.
Safety First
Power off the device, remove the SIM tray, drop the charge below 25%, wear ESD protection, and organise screws as you go. Never puncture or aggressively bend the battery.
Opening the Realme 7
- Heat the rear cover evenly for 2–3 minutes at ~80–90°C to soften the factory adhesive.
- Insert a plastic pick near the lower edge — avoid metal tools that can crack the frame or cut flex cables.
- Work the pick around the edges, taking care near the fingerprint and side-button flex areas.
- Lift the back cover and disconnect the fingerprint flex if needed.
Battery Replacement
Symptoms: rapid drain, swelling, random shutdowns, overheating. Disconnect the battery connector first, remove the protective midframe, apply isopropyl alcohol under the adhesive strips, and ease the cell out with a plastic card (never metal). Fit the new battery, reconnect all flex cables, and test before sealing.
Display Replacement
The Realme 7 uses a fused LCD + digitizer assembly. Open the housing, disconnect the battery and display flex, apply controlled heat to the front edges, separate the damaged panel, clean all old adhesive, test the replacement, then re-adhere and clamp evenly.
Charging Port Repair
The USB-C port sits on a separate daughterboard — a comparatively easy fix. First rule out the cable/adapter and clean the port (soft brush, isopropyl alcohol, compressed air — no metal). To replace: disconnect the battery, remove the loudspeaker housing, disconnect antenna cables, unscrew and swap the sub-board.
Water Damage
Power off immediately, do not charge, open the phone and disconnect the battery. Technicians clean with 99% isopropyl alcohol and an ultrasonic cleaner. Corrosion most often affects the charging IC, PMIC, display/battery connectors and the CPU shield perimeter.
Repairability Summary
- Easy: battery, charging board, speaker
- Moderate: LCD assembly, fingerprint flex
- Advanced (lab only): motherboard repair, CPU rework, water-damage restoration
Most Replaced Realme 7 Parts
LCD display assembly, battery, USB charging board, fingerprint flex cable, loudspeaker module, rear camera module, rear housing.
Post-Repair Testing Checklist
Charging speed, touch response, cameras, fingerprint scanner, speaker, microphone, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, SIM detection, GPS, and 90Hz refresh rate.
For official servicing you can use Realme’s authorised support at realme.com/in/support — though authorised centres are typically slower and costlier than a trusted doorstep service for out-of-warranty repairs.
